Boksoondoga
A brewery in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, home of Boksoondoga Hand-crafted Makgeolli, a naturally carbonated makgeolli brewed with Korean rice in old earthenware jars.

The brewery's story
Boksoondoga is a family brewery in Sangbuk-myeon, Ulju-gun, Ulsan, that turned the makgeolli once brewed by Park Bok-soon, the mother of the family, into a commercial product. It uses only Korean rice and brews in the traditional way, in old jars that are 50 to 70 years old. The carbonation is natural, produced by the nuruk over a long fermentation. The “do” (都) in the name expresses the intention of linking countryside and city, and the brewery does in fact run shops in major train stations.
