The brewer
Grand Coteau Winery (Green Agricultural Association) started as an association founded in 1996 by grape farmers on Daebudo island in Ansan, Gyeonggi, to secure a market for their grapes. Its brewery began operating in 2000, and it ferments and ages the table grape Campbell Early and the Korean white grape Cheongsu in stainless steel tanks instead of oak barrels, making wines low in tannin with soft acidity. Its Cheongsu white wine won the grand prize in the fruit wine category of the 2019 Korea Wine & Liquor Competition.
